An Old Man With Enormous Wings?
After reading the two short stories--A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings and Light is Like Water, make up a short story of your own. Your story should borrow from the school of Magical-Realism in that you will bring together something completely normal and everyday with something surreal/magical and far-out. Your post should be at least 300 words long.

In the year 20000 there was a man and a woman who lived in the ocean. 20 year ago the man Tom and the woman Lula were walking threw the park and a bow was drop miles away .They didn’t know the radiation got in to there blood stream ,and the formed these super power .Tom had form gills so did Lula .They were found by the government . They were taken to a secret place by the Pacific Ocean. The governments were experimenting on them. For year and year they were trying to get free. They knew they would die "we have to get out of here” said Tom.’what are we going to do” said Lula they have gate keeping us here .Tom was stronger then any thing in the world .they wait a couple of week then as the day got closer the started to think about what would happen when they got out .They would have to stay in water for the rest of there lives .That day they busted out. As they swam the sea there found the lost city of Atlantics and they live happily every after.

ReplyDeleteAlong time ago,there was this man that was on this hike through the woods. The man went inside the woods to find something. So as the man was hiking,he had failed in this ditch. As he was trap inside the ditch,his arm was stuck in this hole. There was 1 one way he could get out and thats was to cut his arm off. When he did that, some people thought he had died.

ReplyDeleteThe hot air was causing Sarah and Mandy to sweat small beads of pespriation. It was 1998, the sun was beating down on the graden Sarah and her sister were working on for Mrs. Chiles, the next door neighbor, who was about 56, with a back that was cursed with scoliosis . It isnt like she wanted to be there. The only reason she was here was because of her sister. Her sister, Mandy had been in a bad mood last Wednesday, and some kid who'd been getting on her nerve was in the wrong place at the wrong time. A rock was nearby, the kid was nearby and sadly Mrs. Chiles's window was nearby. Yes, that is what happened. For some reason Sarah was also in trouble and having to tend to Mrs. Chiles garden for the rest of the beatiful summer which was like 3 weeks. "Im tired" whined Mandy who was 10 years old. Sarah looked at her younger sister with a look of disappiontment. " you shouldnt have thrown that rock, stupid." she commented. Her sister murmured something unintelligent. They worked a little longer, than finally were done. " I'm gonna tell Mrs.Chiles we're done with her graden." Sarah said standing up. Mandy looked up a creepy look on her face. " Be careful," she said in a creepy voice to match the way she looked " she's a witch". Sarah rolled her eyes. Her siser had a huge imaginaton. Sarah walked into the house and called Mrs. chiles. She checked all downstairs then walks up-stairs. She started to go back down stairs when she heard some strange chanting. She curiosly walked toward the door where it was coming from. The door was opened a crack. Sarah peeked in just in time to see Mrs. Chiles back straightening as she said the strange chant. Her silver hair turned black and her face turned from wrinkled and ugly to young and beatiful. Sarah screamed and ran down the stairs. So Mandy was right Mrs. Chiles was a witch. She told her sister to hurry and come on. They hurridly walked home.
ReplyDeleteIt was 1990 in Brooklyn,New York there lived a little boy named "Johnny" in an apartment called "Tower Central". He lived with his uncle which everyone thought was weird but he never knew why. His uncle would never let johnny come out of his room after 8:00. During this time at night Johnny would hear weird noises coming from outside of his door. He would then begin getting sparkles appearing on his skin and his skin color turned blue. This had started happeneing to Johnny for the last month , which is when his uncle started locking him in his room at 8:00. One day Johnny gathered up his courage and went to his uncle to ask him why he had began doing Johnny the way he did. And then his uncle revealed to him that the family was cursed with the gooble monster disease. It makes them turn blue and sparkly . This disease was so embarassing and Johnny's uncle wanted to wait til he got the disease controllable. So the next day Johnny went to school and got invite to the school dance by Emilia. It started at 8:00 and Johnny just had to go but knew his uncle wouldnt let him because of the disease. Johnny returned home after school and came u with a plan to sneak out the house. As soon as 8:00 Johnny was out his house and on te way to the party. His skin seemed normal all the way til he got inside the dance that is when everything on him started to change . Johnny turned blue and sparkly and before you knew it he was the center of attention.
ReplyDeleteJohnny ran out of the dance and dashed home as fast he could without looking back. He burst through the door and there was his uncle sitting in the chair looking dissappointed. Johnny ran to his uncle and cryed because of his embarassment. Within the next week Johnny and his uncle moved out of Central Tower and moved onto an island where everybody was just like them .
Once upon a time,there was this old lady named Ms. Mary Ann Cotton.She was a women no body knew.She stayed in the woods,in a creepy looking house.Now lets get to the story.There was this rich, wealthy man named Mr. Richard Rich-man.He stay in a nice big luxury type house.The man had a family he had an adorable wife named Ms.Julia M. Rich-man.He also had two lovely children,a boy and a girl.The little boy name was Little Richard,and a daughter who name was Mary M. Rich-man.The daddy was a hard working man,so was the wife.Their children go to a catholic school.One day the old lady Ms. Cottons said,"i need some lovey children to make my lovely child-stew".As Ms. Cotton say that,the rich an lovely family decides to go on a little trip out of town.The trip was really for them to,relax,see new places,and basically have fun.They packed all of there things they where going to need for the trip.Finally they have everything packed,so they are ready to hi the road.They're on the road,while they're on the road they come to a split road.They did have a map for the trip,so they wouldn't get lost.Mr. Richard was kinda confused.Because the road they are on wasn't on the map.It's getting late,so they have to think fast.Where they are now they have no street lights.The moment it gets dark it could be over for the Rich-man family.They finally pick a road, they just don't know they made a bad turn.They were head straight for Ms. Cotton's house,they where getting terrified of how dark the road was.Out of no where they see this old creepy looking house.Mr. Rich-man thought to stop and ask for directions.He did just that,he got out of the car legs trimbeling.He starts to sweat his fingers in shocked,he balls them up in a fist.He finally knocks on the door,out of no where u here a loud witch-like voice.She said, "who is it" and she answer the door.With a terrified voice Mr. Rich-man asks,"do you know how to get to a hotel close by",she said,"no but you are more than welcome to stay over here tonight".Mr. and Ms. Rich-man says with shock in there voice,"okay that will be fine".As they settle at the creepy lady house,she start to ask them a couple of questions,"um how old are your children,Mr. Rich-man replies.My kids are 10 And 12 years old,the lady Ms. Cotton reply,"um scrump chess".The Rich-mans was wondering what do she mean by scrump chess, so the Rich-mans ask, what do you mean by that".She say," O it's an old saying".She reply,so she tries to give them a room to sleep in.they were alright with it,they re settled down now out of no where u here loud screaming. !!!THE END!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, i was playing basketball and some man was wacthing. So we saw that he was on a cane and couldn't walk well. He ask for some help to walk him home.Me and my freind told him come on but he had to find his keys. They were in the grass he had maybe drop them. Now at this point we started to walk . He stay all the way in the back but, we have to go up a hill. So we had to guide him going up the hill. Now he say "hold on my legs hurt" so i was like we almost there. we started to pick him up but out of no where he started to run up the hill. We that it was fake but he was runing up the hill. So at this point we were relieve from walking the hill but he said "thank you young mens." But this was back in 2000 B.c. now we still had carts for hoops. The man had a tail but it was clipped like it had been to long. So i that i was going to grow a tail too. Now we are chilling but we didn't see how he started to run up the hill. So people you might one day grow a tail.

ReplyDeleteEvangelist. Evangelist was a Christian Prophet in a town called Fallen Faith. This town was filled with a body of Ex-Christians who had lost their faith after a terrible storm had destroyed their city. They once prayed that God would prevent the storm from harming them but when it came, the people, and the little faith they did have, was gone.
Evangelist was one of the few Christians that were left in the town. He often held church services in his home for all who would listen. Many people laughed and mocked both Evangelist and those who followed him. During his sermons, he spoke about Christ, Love, Peace, Joy, Faith, and caring for others. He also spoke on an upcoming danger and the way it would change the world. He told everyone that as long as they had faith in God, everything would be just fine.
The days went by and the Christians were being mocked more and more each day. The Saints went on trying to share the gospel with others despite the great deal of disrespect that they received during their witnessing. They went from street to street sharing the gospel with others. They often warned the other people about the danger and destruction to come but they just would not listen.
The next day in their church service Evangelist had an important word that God told him. He preached about the upcoming destruction and how it would change the world. He told them that if they kept their Faith and Trust in God, they would be fine. The Christians didn’t know exactly what to expect, but they knew that it couldn’t be good from the sounds of things.
The next day, was the day of destruction. People were going on with their daily lives when they heard a loud thunder. Suddenly, the skies turned dark. The people didn’t know what was happening. Loud screams came from all directions. All of a sudden the people were attacked by monstrous ghostly beings that were surely demonic. Many people were destroyed and tortured. There were Christians everywhere. The Christians just began to pray. Then, big clouds of light came from the skies and Angels came out from the sky .They destroyed all of the demonic beings that were in the path of the Christians. The Christians could not be harmed.
Many people cried out for the Christians and to God. They were to late. They got the same treatment from the demons as everyone else. This was surely a dreadful day to remember. After the destruction ended, many people were injured. None were killed. The people apologized to Evangelist and the other Christians. Most of them had gained their Faith back and they were never attacked by any storm or devilish force again.
In the year 2002 Trent had just came home from school. He did his normal after school schedule; had a snack, said hello to his parents and started to do his homework.after that he went to his room and he felt as if something was missing. He turned around to find that his computer was missing. He instantly assumed his parent took it so he went to ask them about it. When he asked them they didn't know anything about his computer going missing. Ther was only one other person who could have taken his computer, his sister Monroe. She was always was going into his room and taking all his stuff. When he went to her room her room was empty, but there was a muffled sound that sounded similar to a vacuum from under the bed. So Trent went to look and found a large red light under Monroe's bed. When he reached for the light he was sucked in the light and fell out in a field. This field was full of everything imaginable. You could live here and never have to worry about being bored, starvation, or war. Trent wanted to keep this place all to himself. So he went back out the light and went to behind the bed and bra Ed the side of the light that would not suck you in. He carefully put it in a jar and climbed in the light. When he got in he explored the strange place and found a cottage. In the cottage he found Monroe. She looked very surprised to see him. She welcomed him inside to explain what happened to him. She told him that he fell into a rabbit hole. Similar to the one in the Alice in wonderland story. She also warned him that these holes are very unstable and that they could collapse if moved to much. Right after she told him that he ground started shaking. The ground was cracking and a bright white light was leaking through. They hurried to find the light and ran through when they got out the light they saw that the light was changing colors and going out of control so they quickly closed the jar it was in and watched from a distance after a couple of minutes the jar was full of smoke and the jar broke. When the smoke cleared the smoke was gone the light was gone.

Everysummer they went swimming everyday , even when school started the wen right afther school . They all lived along the beach in Mreced , Califronia . They all were very wealthy .
ReplyDeleteWell on agust the 24 irgth the school the girls decided to meet up atmagies house . It looked cloudy outside but they still proceeded to put there bathing suits on . Rite as they got ready to step ou the door magies mom yelled " Yall cant go to the pool today theres going to be a storm ." We all looked at eatchother in disapoiment . We all hudled upstairs and figured well lets have a sleep over . We didnt want to do at my house beacuse my parents are strict and wouldnt let us have fun . Jackies parents worked until midnight and didnt mind if she had company .
We all met up a jackies house afther hustiling thriugh the strong winds and cold rain . We all made it o jackies and ate snacks , listened to music and jus partye d and did us . We feel asleep peacfully not really botherd by the crazy storm .
Fiday was here our favorite day to swim . We hurried to the pool afther school . just to see it destroyed we all felt like crying . to help we tryed to clean it up then jacquline feel in "AHHHHHHHHHHHHH !" She yelled . " Oh No Some on HELPP !" Iyelled . by daddy came out and help her out the dirty pool . as she got out he pool she looked puzzled and scared " are ue ok , " we asked "theres something in there , " jacquline said . "What did ue see ?" i asked . "Nothing i felt it " we all stood there curious of whatcould be in the water. afther everyone had left the seen we decided to check it out . We all put on our icky close andd headed to the pool . we all held hands and said " i love you " we squinched our eyes and jumped in the pool . shure enought something came jumping out of the water . lightskined long hair pretty eys but as she was all the way out he water we saw the pretty purple and pink fish scales ue have ever seen . "AHHHHHH !its a mermaid " jacquline yelled "omg please go away "the creatue yell frightend. "SHHHHHHHH guys before we a catch someone attention" i said . we ingaged in converstaion with the mermaid and we became friends . We named her purink . we loved her and we all were best friend until one day we had to take her to sea were her home was .
In a land where time never mattered, when day and night came along with the creeky sounds of creeping steps of an old house; there lived three children. All by theirselves, alone , but never scared. For you see their parents were dead . They live in a village, and in the village, customarely at the age of 16 you were an " Adult " . Well the oldest had just turned 16 when their parents died. She made sure they carried themselves wonderfully. Always got their chores done . Never missed a day of school. Always clean. Living on their own never troubled them before . But ofcourse, that was before that day came. The day when some strange lady came. That particular day will never leave the kids memory. That horrific yet magnificent day had snuck up on them with the quicknest and stealth of a cheetah. It came as if it were stalking the children, just waiting to strike. On that specific day the stars were alined in the sky perfectly in a circle. They shined almost brighter than the sun. Many villagers saw this as a sign, but the children payed no mind. They went on and worked. Went to school and came home. Went to bed at 7 as usual. But then, a sudden noise awoke them all. Knocking at the door. "Who could that be at this time of the night?" said the oldest. She slowly walked to the door and peeped out the eyehole. A strange woman was at the door. She opened the door. The lady said her name was Marisol. As the lady walked in and the oldest examined her, she came to the conclusion that the lady was fine to stay. But ofcourse that was before she saw what was behind her. This Lady, was NO lady. For she had a TAIL!!! And as a woman of the tribe the oldest knew this was simply nothing of the ordinary. Marisol told her not to be startled but the oldest was iin a frantic state of mind. She couldnt understand why the lady had a tail. The oldest grabbed her two sisters out the bed and ran. But Marisol had another strange thing about the tail. It could stretch miles and miles. With one whip of her tail she picked up the kids and snatched them back into the house. With her sweet but strangely way to high pitched voice she said "If you run again, I intend to KILL." With that being said the oldest quickly started to think of a plan. And Soon, she had the perfect plan. Later that night while marisol was sleeping, she got a knife and CHOPPED off her tail. Marisol shrivled up into little pieces and turned into dust. But little did they know that the tail was still moving. And that the tail could attach itself to any one. The children went to sleep in peace. Or at least, they thought they did.
ReplyDeleteIt was a shiny and cool day. Me and my two friends, Marcus and Jamal, where just outside playing basketball, and that’s when Jamal looked up and looked at the time then he dropped the ball and took off on his bike. Me and Marcus were suspicious because that wasn’t his first time doing that. Everyday at 8:00 p.m. he would leave and run, or if he had his bike ride off fast. I just thought he had a curfew or something. Anyways Marcus and me just decided to keep playing basketball till our parents called. The next day I walked up to Jamal and asked him what was up. He said, “ don’t worry about it.” That’s when I got suspicious and I tried to figure out what was going on with him. For the next couple weeks I tried following him and everything to find out what was wrong, but every time I would just loose him through this little ally he went through. It was getting really weird and scary. I asked Marcus if he had seen Jamal in a while and he said nope. I decided to go to Jamal’s house because he wasn’t at school today, and I haven’t seen him all week. He didn’t even come to our first playoff game we had. When I knocked on the door and his mom answered. I said, “Is Jamal here?” and she said, “no, I sent a report to the police today to look for him.” I started to get real worried. The day the police went to go search for him, I went with them because I followed him plenty of times, so I knew the route he took. I was only able to help as far as the ally that he went through where I always lost him. When we looked for him I saw glowing eyes in a tiger body though. And I said “Jamal” and he said “ GO AWAY, TAKE THEM SOMEWHERE ELSE!”. Since he was one of my best friends I decided to tell the cops he wasn’t over there and we left. The only people who now knows about him transforming into a tiger is just me and Marcus.

Kidd an the dog always use too talk about how if this bull was real they was going to ride it.So one night they was on the rock they saw a shooting star cross the night beautiful light,As the star crosses they both made a wish that the bull rock will become into a Real Bull cause they can ride it. Two days after they made the wish at the darkness of the valley they heard at spooky noise come from the hill top,As Kidd and Dog jump out of bed an ran out the door to the hill top they saw a BIG STRONG BULL there. They was soo happy that they started dance in circle, Right Away They Start riding the bull back(ENJOYING EVERY TIMED OF IT). As two months past the bull had got weaker an was not no longer standing,So Kidd and Dog was very sad about the bull sickness and thinks he wont make it.The next's day bull died an they was crying that he died. Kidd and Dog barred the bull in the graveyard. A year later the bull soul came out the ground an was comeing after Kidd and Dog,At that very same night the bull soul arrived at they house,as they was sleep the bull KILLED them with his Big horns and they died...THE END
walking down an empty street so quite i could hear my cusions heart beat, all the empty house doors just stayed shut. looking down the road as the wind howls and my skin gets cold. theres an old woman stearing at me from the end of the road, im not sure what she want's but im sure she's very sad. reaching down into my pockets, my hands keep going as if there was a whole where the cloth should be. i looked back and my cusion vanished. i looked ahead as my heart begans to take a pause as the world moves in slowmotion. i seen the old lady as the street lights flickerd on and off, she got closer and closer the light stayed off, i hear some one breathing. the street light's clashed and came back on. i looked ahead and noticed i was just my cusion but he wasnt laughing he was a little angry insted.
ReplyDeletePart 1 : chose tessie because no, one liked her in the beggining because obviously she was notorious for being a late I think everybody exspected her to be late. whe. She arrives you could tell she was kind of stuck up. but she pretended to be happy so she could win the lottery . and the middle of the you could kind of tell she was competitive. at the end of the story you could tell she was really competitive selfish and disrespectful . now wonder no 1 liked her

ReplyDeleteA woman of forty looked up into the stony eyes of a sorrow filled young lady. Immediately, her face brightened and a shimmer of hope grew visible in her glassy eyes. A finger reached forward slowly, then two, then three, then two hands altogether, grabbing at the adult but only grasping bars.
“Allison,” breathed Millicent.
The daughter’s head bent downward and she shook it. “Camille. My name is Camille, mother.”
“Oh.” Millicent’s hands let go of the bars, and the sliver of hope in her eyes vanished. Stepping back from the cell bars, she made her way to the small cot in the corner, collapsing upon it face up in a sigh of disappointment.
“There’s something I need to tell you,” Camille said.
A mumble of words strung from Millicent, incomprehensible to the ears of anyone more than a few inches away from her. Camille picked her head up, unblinking, and questioned Millicent on what she said, though she seemed to know exactly what it was even when the words never reached her.
“Hearing problems too I see? Next it’ll be some lethal disease…” Millicent grumbled and Camille swallowed the gasp of pain in her throat. The fake hair upon her head suddenly became itchy.
“Mom, I have-“
Millicent held up a hand as she stood up, rage and wild anger flaring in her eyes. “Are you Allison?” Camille’s eyes started to shine and she bit her lip, unspeaking. “Then I’m not listening. Not until my baby girl is here…”
Camille stood there, unsure of what to say, mind spinning with words she wanted to speak, but knew there was no point in saying.
“Now get out of here you worthless brat!” Millicent barked. With that, she turned and shuffled back to the bed, slowly sinking onto it, letting out a sob. Curling up in a ball, Camille could hear her saying that one name over and over. “Allison. Oh Allison.”
After minutes of standing there, watching her crazy distressed mother cry over her other daughter, Camille backed away, murmuring to herself, “I love you too mom.”
Outside of the station, Camille’s eyes filled and a sob much like her mother’s escaped from her throat. As she curled up in the passenger’s seat of her car, she let the tears fall silently. A hand touched her arm.
He sighed. “I don’t understand why you do this to yourself...”
Camille looked into his eyes. “Every daughter deserves her mother’s love.”
“And is that what you think she’s giving out? Love?”
Camille stared straight ahead into the distance. Allison left and was given love. Camille stayed and was given hatred. When the cancer took her, all she could hope for was her mother’s love and forgiveness for the past events in her mother’s mind, which never even happened.
Once upon a time there was a ghost named Creeper. Creeper was a know it all type of person, he never liked to be wrong.He only lived in hid ghost planet an never been nowhere else . So one day when it was hot outside and the sky was blue and silver this other ghost was moving to the planet. he arrived on his spaceship. So when they got out of the spaceship he saw the ghost an he was the color bue. So he went up to them and said why are you here these are for white ghost not blue ghost. And thats when the Blue ghost named Casper said i am the same just like you i am just a different color. Then Creeper knew he was wrong so he apologized to Casper. Then they became the bestfriennds in the world. The End
ReplyDeletethe wiz kalifas concert. ‘’Dang, Deaja hurry up!” said Batanja they were on their way to a big concert. When Deaja finally finished, they left and drove in Batanja car that floated. Deaja and Batenja had been so ready to go to this concert on the moon for about 3 years. All of a sudden a purple fairy came and granted them three wishes but deaja really didn’t want to do anything but go to the concert. So Batanja told deaja they should take the offer, and wish for a backstage, and VIP pass. When they left the concert Batanja let deaja drive not knowing that she had a drink before they left. So deaja was acting crazy but Batanja thought she was acting that way because she had enjoyed the concert. So there was a pedestrian crossing the street and deaja nearly had hit her. ‘’What are you doing’’ yelled Batanja. ‘’ I didn’t see that lady!’’ deaja explained. After a while deaja started speeding up. ‘’BOOM!’’ they hit a big eight –wheel truck. ‘’Where are we?’’ asked Batanja. They were in a fairy world. ‘’ooh we are flying.’’ ‘It’s your fault!’’ cried Batanja. ‘’ I will not be able to see my family again because you decided that you want to be crazy about a dumb concert.’’ Im sorry Batanja I had a drink before we left the concert. Screamed deaja.’’What!’’ yelled Batanja. They were so loud they didn’t see or hear all of the fairies welcoming them to their world. The end!

So Batanja told deaja they should take the offer, and wish for a backstage, and VIP pass. When they left the concert Batanja let deaja drive not knowing that she had a drink before they left. So deaja was acting crazy but Batanja thought she was acting that way because she had enjoyed the concert. So there was a pedestrian crossing the street and deaja nearly had hit her. ‘’What are you doing’’ yelled Batanja. ‘’ I didn’t see that lady!’’ deaja explained. After a while deaja started speeding up. ‘’BOOM!’’ they hit a big eight –wheel truck. ‘’Where are we?’’ asked Batanja. They were in a fairy world. ‘’ooh we are flying.’’ ‘It’s your fault!’’ cried Batanja. ‘’ I will not be able to see my family again because you decided that you want to be crazy about a dumb concert.’’ Im sorry Batanja I had a drink before we left the concert. Screamed deaja.’’What!’’ yelled Batanja. They were so loud they didn’t see or hear all of the fairies welcoming them to their world. The end!
